Big custom builds you own outright.
You commission the system, we build it, and then it is yours — the source, the data, the intellectual property, all of it. Quoted by the project, never by the hour. And the thing we actually care about: it just works.
You commission it the way you would commission an electrician.
You pay the electrician. They map out what they are going to do, tell you about it, and you approve it. They build it. Then it is yours. They might come back in six months to check it over and read the meters, and that is a separate thing you choose.
But at the end of the day it is your system. You own the wires and the walls, you own the panels, you own the connectors, you own the data running through it. Nobody sends you a bill every month for permission to keep using your own building.
Software is bought that way much less often than it should be. We build it that way.
Four things, and they are in the contract.
You own the source
The full repository, handed over on final payment. Not an export, not a copy with the good parts removed. If you want to hire someone else to extend it next year, you can, and you do not need our permission.
You own the data
It is your data and it lives wherever you decide it lives. Canadian residency if you need it. There is no arrangement here where your records sit in an account we control.
You own the IP
The intellectual property in what we build for you transfers to you. We do not retain a licence to resell your system to the next company in your industry.
You owe us nothing afterwards
No seat fees, no annual licence, no renewal conversation. When the work is finished and paid for, the relationship is complete unless you decide otherwise.
Owning it costs more than renting it. That is the trade, and we would rather say so than have you find out at the quote.
A subscription spreads the cost of software across every customer the vendor has. A build does not, so the number in front of you is larger. In exchange you stop paying at the end instead of paying forever, and the thing you are left holding is an asset rather than a renewal.
None of which makes subscription software bad. It is not dead, it works, and for plenty of jobs it is the right call — we will tell you when we think yours is one of them. It is the wrong tool specifically when the system runs the part of your business that nobody else runs the way you do.
One project per person. No exceptions.
Every person here is assigned a maximum of one project at a time, so their attention is not divided. We keep it that way on purpose.
Splitting someone across two builds does not cost you half their quality. It costs far more than that, because the expensive part of this work is holding an entire system in your head at once — and that is the first thing to go when a person is switching between two of them.
It is also why we do not quote by the hour. You are buying a finished system for an agreed number, not a meter that runs while we work out what you meant.
11 systems running in production.
Client names are withheld — that is house policy on every engagement, and it will apply to yours too. The systems, the workflows they replaced and what changed are described in full.
